What is lymphedema?
Lymphedema is a chronic, progressive accumulation of high-protein fluid which causes swelling and deformation of the body.
Untreated, lymphedema patients are highly susceptible to infections (cellulitis), fungal growth, skin breakdown/wounds and additional complications.

Signs and symptoms of lymphedema

  • Complaints of heaviness.
  • Difficulty moving.
  • Swelling that initially comes and goes.

  • Thickening or hardening of the skin (fibrosis).
